Whether you are visiting the Sonnenalp for the first time or have been a guest for years, your chances of reaching "Jason" at the front desk are twice as good as reaching any other front desk staff member. Jason Noring and Jason Schweitzer have been fixtures in welcoming guests to the Sonnenalp for more than five years.
Both agree that the family-owned culture and the sense of belonging and pride that comes from working in a hotel where the owner is seen daily is one of the job's biggest draws. They also love the challenges and solutions that the job affords them.
"My most impressive challenge was personally purchasing a Christmas tree and ornaments for a guest on Christmas day, getting it into their room and decorated without the children knowing. The surprise was really special," says Schweitzer.
"A guest purchased in Monaco and shipped to the Sonnenalp fifty Louis Vuitton items as Christmas presents for their family. The store did not provide descriptions of the items, only item numbers, so all of them were held up in customs. The guest asked if we would help. I spent eight hours getting item descriptions from Louis Vuitton, called customs and was able to get the items here the day before Christmas. I'm still quite proud of that one," adds Noring.
