Reviews & What Guests Are Saying
Thoroughly Enjoyed the Swiss Chalet
We thoroughly enjoyed the Swiss Charlet restaurant and the Hotel Sonnenalp. Sigi, in particular, provided excellent service, and we were extremely satisfied with the food and his recommendations. The atmosphere was incredibly warm, welcoming, and family-like. Highly recommended.
Authentic Swiss Restaurant
The Swiss Chalet in Vail, CO is a very authentic Swiss restaurant. For our main course, we had the Matterhorn Raclette, which comes with a hearty portion of steak, sausages, and vegetables, along with raclette cheese that you melt and cook at the table. It made the meal fun and interactive, especially while enjoying a glass of wine. It was excellent.
Loved the Fondue
Body Copy: Swiss Chalet transported me to Switzerland!! I loved the fondue and vegetarian zuchirer. Sigi was especially lovely! She was so warm and welcoming which made the experience extra special. Thank you!
What Is Raclette?
Raclette is one of Switzerland's most beloved culinary traditions and a signature experience at Swiss Chalet. The name refers both to the semi-hard Alpine cheese and the centuries-old method of preparing it by gently melting the cheese before serving it over potatoes, vegetables, cured meats, and other accompaniments.
Traditionally enjoyed as a shared meal among family and friends, raclette encourages guests to gather around the table, enjoy conversation, and create a dining experience that's as interactive as it is delicious. At Swiss Chalet, guests can experience authentic raclette prepared with imported Swiss cheese and traditional accompaniments, bringing a taste of the Alps to Vail Village.
Experience Traditional Swiss Fondue
Few meals are as iconic as Swiss fondue. Prepared with carefully selected imported Swiss cheeses, fondue has long been a symbol of Alpine hospitality and communal dining. Guests gather around a shared pot of warm, melted cheese, pairing it with artisan bread, potatoes, vegetables, and other seasonal accompaniments.
Swiss Chalet offers several fondue options, allowing guests to experience traditional recipes alongside unique chef-inspired variations. Whether you're introducing someone to fondue for the first time or continuing a favorite tradition, sharing a fondue dinner creates a memorable evening in Vail.
