Join us for the Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation’s 28th Annual Casual Bicycle Classic: A benefit ride for ECO Trails and The Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation. Enjoy 38-mile recreational bicycle ride along the bike path from Breckenridge to Vail (or bike both ways for a 76-mile ride!). This ride will happen on Saturday, Sept. 7, rain or shine!

Registration is now open for the ride, with Advanced Registration available through August 31, 2013 for just $85 per adult and $35 per child 15 and under. Registrations received after August 31 will run $135 per adult and $75 per child 15 and under. Your registration fee includes transportation, gift, refreshments on the course, a chance to win prizes and a full southwestern-style barbecue after the ride at the Bully Ranch! All proceeds benefit ECO Trails and the Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation.

Check-in will happen in the day of the ride from 7 to 8 a.m. at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail. The shuttle to the start over in Breckenridge will leave the hotel at 8 a.m. Alternatively, riders may check in starting at 8:45 a.m. in the Breckenridge Skier Parking lot. The ride starts in Breckenridge at 9 a.m. Riders interested in cycling both directions will meet at the Sonnenalp Resort at 7 a.m.

Parking for this event will not be available at the Sonnenalp Hotel. All participants are asked to park in the Vail Village parking structure, which is free during the summer months. If starting in Breckenridge, riders are asked to park in the free Skier Parking Lot.

The Bully Ranch Barbecue will start at 11:30 am. The Barbecue is included for participants, and it is available for just $25 for non-participants. There will be a silent auction and great prizes! A shuttle will be provided back to Breckenridge after the barbecue at the Bully Ranch for those who started there.

Please remember, this is NOT A RACE! This is a casual ride that begins in Breckenridge and follows the recreational path 10 miles to Frisco. Next comes a gradual 7 mile climb along the creek to Copper Mountain followed by 5 challenging miles to the Vail Pass summit. The end is a coast, predominantly downhill, 16 miles to the Bully Ranch for a BBQ, silent auction prizes and relaxation!
