I got married here in December 2019 and could not have had a better experience! I worked with Shanna Sweeney, the new event coordinator, and she was beyond amazing! She took care of everything I could have imagined and handled things I didn’t even think of. She responds lightening fast to emails and texts, which will become invaluable as you get closer to your wedding day. The venue and service was impeccable and all of my guests said it was the best wedding venue and the nicest hotel they’d ever been to. If you’re looking to get married in a winter wonderland, this is the spot!

Getting married at the Sonnenalp was an absolute dream. From start to finish your experience will be best in class - the staff here is exceptional and the hospitality really shines. The venue, of course is gorgeous, but the food and beverage also truly stands out. As the bride and groom, we loved it, our families loved it, and so did all of our guests. Not a single thing we'd do differently. Looking forward to celebrating many anniversaries to come at the property!

Cannot say enough positive things about Amy and her team. Professional and top quality service from start to finish. Everything was executed perfectly the day of and the care each team member puts in truly makes a difference. One of best aspects of the venue is quality of the food and amenities. We received countless comments on how quality the food was and everyone genuinely enjoyed their meal. You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu and people actually ate the cake because it was so good. The setup of the venue makes for a great day as well. The ceremony site is very intimate and worked well for our wedding of 100 people.
The ceremony moves perfectly into the cocktail hour and allows guests to see the reception space in Ludwig’s as a whole new venue. The reception space in Ludwig’s is an absolutely perfect elegant mountain wedding venue. The open roof really makes the space unique and the placement of the bar worked great too. The Sonnenalp and its team surpassed our wildest dreams and we could not have been happier with our choice.

My husband and I got married at the Sonnenalp over Labor Day weekend. I cannot adequately express how spectacular this venue is. The ceremony location right on Gore Creek is beautiful, and the gorgeous reception area with a glass-enclosed, retractable roof is perfect. We had wonderful weather, but knowing that in the event of rain the venue would be just as lovely made me a lot less stressed in the months leading up to the wedding. The food is incredible - I've been to a lot of weddings and have not generally been wowed by the food. But the Sonnenalp's cuisine is five star in its own right. I loved that the chefs were flexible and made adjustments to our menu selections to align with our specific tastes - it made the menu feel much more personalized and our own. My husband and I, as well as most of our guests, are from New York so we had some pretty discerning palates to please. I was floored at the number of people who told us how good the food was and even mentioned specific dishes they loved (the gazpacho and the lamb were big hits). And perhaps most surprisingly - since in my experience wedding cakes almost always look better than they taste - the wedding cake prepared by the Sonnenalp pastry chef was the highlight! Tons and tons of people commented on how delicious it was. Finally, but most importantly, I must mention the Sonnenalp's wedding coordinator Amy. Simply put, we could not have pulled off a destination wedding without her. From start to finish, Amy exuded professionalism and was always very responsive to our many questions and requests. Somehow Amy makes each couple feel like all her focus is on them; even though the Sonnenalp hosts lots of weddings, in our interactions with Amy we always felt special and that we had her full attention. Amy thought of every detail, no matter how small - making sure to get our input on lots of things we'd never even have thought to mention. She also ensured the day itself went smoothly, and did a great job of coordinating with all our vendors in the lead-up to the wedding so we could focus on each other and our guests. Thank you so much to Amy and the entire Sonnenalp staff for making our wedding so memorable!
