Vail Village is the Hub of Vail
Vail Village is home to countless restaurants and shops and it offers a variety of year-round events.
A vacation in Vail is not complete without dining at a few of our favorites. Sweet Basil, which has been a cornerstone since 1977, offers New American cuisine and has a busy bar; Matsuhisa offers Japanese fusion and sushi; Bully Ranch Restaurant, which is housed in the Sonnenalp Vail hotel, specializes in burgers and casual Southwestern dishes; and Mountain Standard welcomes guests with a wood fire, an open kitchen and a New American menu.
Of course there is also the iconic Pepi’s Bar & Restaurant, an Austrian eatery, with its outdoor deck in the center always full of folks soaking in the sunshine.
For French fare, residents go to Left Bank Restaurant, which was established in 1970, and La Tour, which opened 20 years ago.
Vail Village is home to a variety of luxury shops ranging from Gorsuch, which carries designer skiwear, apparel and gifts, to The Golden Bear, a jewelry shop known for its ursine designs.
